CASE STUDY · AIR-DRIED INSTANT NOODLES
From Benchmark to Commercial Shipment in Approximately Three Months
How Waldesun developed, industrialized and shipped an air-dried High Protein Instant Noodle for a U.S. cross-border e-commerce customer — from benchmark product to first commercial shipment in approximately three months.
This timeline reflects one project. Development timelines, MOQ and lead times for new High Protein Instant Noodles programs are confirmed by project.

The Challenge
Cross-border e-commerce sellers compete on speed and flexibility. The customer arrived with a benchmark product rather than a finished manufacturing specification and needed a partner that could develop the product, approve a golden sample quickly, adapt the existing manufacturing line and move into commercial production on an accelerated schedule.
Development Path
- 1
Benchmark Received
We evaluated the benchmark with the customer and defined the target specification.
- 2
Product Development
Formula and process trials focused on noodle structure, air drying and rehydration performance.
- 3
Golden Sample Approved
The customer approved a golden sample before industrial scale-up.
- 4
Added Equipment
Additional equipment was installed on the existing air-dried noodle line to support the approved product at commercial scale.
- 5
Commercial Production
Trial production was followed by commercial production using the agreed product and process configuration.
- 6
First Shipment
The first commercial shipment followed approximately three months after the benchmark was received.
RESULT
Approx. 3 Months
From benchmark receipt to first commercial shipment in approximately three months. The initial commercial shipment comprised 4 containers.
Why It Matters
When a product proves itself, manufacturing has to catch up quickly. Waldesun expanded the capability of the existing line around the approved product rather than asking the customer to redesign the product around existing equipment constraints.
